ABAMS
Partners: GS DATA DEVOPS SRL (Romania) & REXS.IO (Poland)
Rexs.io provides blockchain-based data notarization technology ready for seamless integration into existing IT infrastructures, which speeds up blockchain adoption across various industries. In the ABAMS* (Acceleration of blockchain adoption in the Maritime sector) project, an easy-to-implement, cheap and efficient solution that will improve the security of documentation flow and accelerate its digitization will be offered. The aim is to build a complete prototype to prove that blockchain can be implemented seamlessly into any existing IT infrastructure and thus, show the potential of DLT to the Maritime sector. By addressing the main obstacles holding the Maritime organizations from blockchain implementation, the speed of popularization of this technology will be significantly influenced and the potential to address the Blue Growth objectives will be released.
The prototype will be industry and technology-agnostic, which is proven by implementing the same technology stack into two sectors: maritime logistics and transport automation.
The prototyping will focus on the integration of rexs.io with a custom CRM Spica built by with Romanian company GS Data currently used by over 20 naval transport companies in Constanta, Romania.
ADVARPOL
Partners: Aeris Tecnologías Ambientales SL (Spain)
ADVARPOL aims to provide a reliable and cost-efficient solution for the management of MARPOL wastes in port facilities. In recent years, the application of anaerobic digestion, a biological process that allows a significant reduction in the volume of waste to be managed and the production of energy, has spread in various sectors. However, this technology must be tested at a laboratory scale in order to assess its suitability for complex wastes, such as MARPOL. Therefore, ADVARPOL proposes to carry out specific studies to assess whether the application of anaerobic digestion to these specific wastes is feasible and adequate. Specific lab-scale studies will be carried out under different conditions with the purpose of maximizing the rate of gasification of the waste.
CORAL
Partners: BGEO OPEN GIS, S.L (Spain) & SeaData Sp z-o.o. (Poland) & Water Robotics SAS (France).
CORAL provides a comprehensive solution for small and medium ports that enables them to digitize their data management, become more environmentally friendly, and optimize vessel management.
The offered platform serves as a single information point for the whole port. It contains three features:
- data hub – an online, interactive system for data storage and management, including satellite data, meteorological observations and various measurements
- water and air pollution monitoring with aerial and water drones – to generate 3D data about pollution and ground/water based stations/buyos that will continuously monitor the environment.
- dock/vessel management application – the old methods of communication between ship – dock operators (emails, phone calls) will be digitalised, better communication channels between port actors will be provided and an online reservation system for dock management will be created. A designated app will allow clients to directly communicate with the vessels, while the IOT network will enable them to check whether the ship is present at the reserved dock.
In the platform data analysis, port management and planning of operations are easy and fast. This project will help ports move into the new direction, digitalize and optimize various processes, and become more “green”.
DTA4IP
Partners: Dioghenis International SRL (Romania) & Izurun Technology S.L. (Spain)
DTA4IP is a cloud platform focused on intralogistics assets. It is aimed at gaining efficiency in the end user processes where the intralogistics machinery (cranes, forklifts…) play a critical role, like the Port and Logistic industry.
DTA4IP will represent a huge step forward for IZURUN TECHNOLOGY in its product portfolio development for the intralogistics assets in PORT AND LOGISTIC sector, more concretely in material handling equipment maintenance, where the concept will be tested in relevant scenarios in real cases provided by a field maintenance expert of these equipment: DIOGHENIS INTERNATIONAL SRL.
The vertical areas of the project are as follows:
- Asset monitoring / IoT with sensors.
- Advanced condition-based maintenance management
- Research on data analytics and advanced methodologies for remaining useful life calculation.
GSCFleet
Partners: Fleetever (France)
The company Ajama was founded in 2016 by Mathieu Roux (CEO) and Raphaël Roux (CTO), and is located in Nîmes, France.
They are freight forwarders specialised in international, maritime transport. “Fleetever”, their digital platform is aimed to ease the management of international transport operations.
Today, they aim to commercialise this innovative and revolutionary platform which will simplify the import/export operation processes.
This, in turn, allows their clients to manage their supply chain better by reducing their costs, optimising delays and supplying valuable information.
The transport industry is one of the most polluting sectors. In light of this observation, their company is carrying out the Green Supply Chain project by Fleetever, which is in line with both Galatea challenges and Fleetever’s vision.
The project aims to reduce the carbon footprint by optimising supply chain management using tools such as artificial intelligence and the digital twin.
NAUSEA 4.0
Partners: IMCW Europe SL. (Spain) & SAMMY PC (Greece)
The project NAUSEA 4.0 is an innovative and disruptive approach for the blue economy and specifically for the tourist ports and marinas market. The proposed prototype is based on the exploitation of deep learning algorithms and video analytics in order to improve the daily operations and management of ports and marine infrastructures, by helping them to digitalize the critical port activities and also to provide integrated services to their clients. More specifically, NAUSEA 4.0 project will combine real time videos that will be captured from several spots in marinas or tourist ports with new algorithms and data analytics for monitoring in real time the occupancy of the berth spaces, analyze the maritime traffic inside the harbors and finally to provide guidance and added-value digital services to the yachting community.
PORTNET
Partners: BLUE ROOM INNOVATION (Spain)
PORTNET is a blockchain-powered waste management solution for greener, more efficient ports & harbours. It is a unique contribution to circularity and a commitment to Green Ports due to the technological power of blockchain: they digitize with a hybrid webapp / app and QR codes various points in the waste reception processes, writing the data of forms and traces in a ledger (blockchain). PORTNET improves coordination of the following agents from the logistics-port community: Port Authority, Port Police, MARPOL service concessionaire (waste reception companies) shipowners and nautical station.
SMINTIME
Partners: ZeniaLabs Automation Intelligence, S.L. (Spain) & Braintronix SA (Romania) & Tuito Digital Interaction Lab (France)
The SMINTIME Project offers an innovative mobile and automated solution for reducing inefficiencies and inaccuracies in the inspection process of maritime TEU conytainers, with corresponding reduction in economical losses and blaming procedures on the non-traceable container defects.
It also increases the safety in the inspection procedure by reducing personnel risks and potential injuries, linked to the fact of works in height, personnel climbing up to ladders in very windy situations leading to accidents, personnel leaves and economical losses.
The solution makes use of advanced Robotics, Computer Vision, AI and User-Experience techniques for achieving practical and easy-to-use tools for the personnel of the port, taking advantage of mobile apps in handheld devices (e.g. tablet or voice command), that will enable the reporting of the containers’ status and its traceability in an efficient way.
The main benefits of the SMINTIME solution are:
- More safety for the inspection personnel in the port area.
- Improved data flow and traceability of hazards and defects through the digitalization of the data.
